This is an 11x14 oil that I just did yesterday afternoon. First time I have had my oils out for so long. I decided to play with my palette knife. Not sure about the results but it sure was fun. I photographed this stream on my son's pasture a few years ago. I decided to finally paint again in oil so I just pulled this photo out of my file randomly. Sometimes I do that to get me started. I just try to make a painting from the photo, taking artistic license and trying to improve on composition etc. If you notice, I have left the red underpainting show through in spots all over the canvas.
